Users can create their own classroom plans using the 5E Model template specifically designed for comprehensive and quality instruction.
This particular template is widely used for all subjects, except for ELAR/SLAR which has its own template format.
Site access: District Resources > Design Templates
Click on the District Resources tab and select Design Templates.
You will automatically land on the Design Templates: Manage My Plans page. Click on the Create New Plan button.
Enter a Title for your plan by manually typing the title or copy/paste from an existing document, select the Plan 5E model option from the drop-down selection, then click the Continue button.
NOTE: The 5E Model can be used for any non-ELAR/SLAR plan (i.e. Math, Science, Social Studies, Art, Music, PE, etc.).
When the Editing Plan screen appears, the Title field will be automatically populated – however, you may edit this field by manually typing OR performing a copy/paste from another document.
Select the appropriate Grade/Subject/(Course) from the lists provided.
NOTE: If a High School grade level and subject area is selected you must also select the specific course.
Enter a Unit #, Lesson #, and Suggested Duration for the lesson.
To align the appropriate TEKS to your plan, click the Manage Alignments button in the TEKS section.
Use the filters provided to select the TEKS aligned to your plan and click Save.
To align the appropriate Performance Assessments to your plan, click the Manage Assessments button in the Performance Assessment section.
Use the filters provided to select the Performance Assessments aligned to your plan and click Save.
Add lists for Key Understandings and Guiding Questions to the plan using the text edit box – type OR copy/paste - standard editing tools are available on the toolbar.
Add any pertinent Vocabulary to the plan using the 3-column table in the text edit box – type OR copy/paste - standard editing tools are available on the toolbar.
Add lists for any pertinent Materials and Resources to the plan using the text edit box – type OR copy/paste - standard editing tools are available on the toolbar
If you haven't already done so, click Save to confirm your selections and content entered thus far.
To complete your plan, you will enter the instructional steps specific to the lesson(s) you will be teaching.
